I'm exaggerating as in making them to be perfect headphones which is what many reviews are expressing, yours included. I've also been reading discussions on comparisons with Sony MDR Z7 or Audioquest Nighthawk. I've heard both of those, and if the TH-X00 are being compared with those, then it has no business being discussed in the same sentence as TH900 even imho. I have a trustworthy source who has heard the TH-X00 production model and told me it's more comparable to the HD650 and that the HD800 and Hifiman HE560 are superior. History has shown many things get hyped up, such as the Vali and also see Liquid Carbon.

Speaking as someone whose heard enough hyped up gear over the last 4 years the Carbon and the Vali don't fall in that category. An before anyone asks, yes i've reviewed both, one for a blog and one on my old defunked Youtube channel, and was impressed enough to invest my own hard earned money on them. Both those gears are worth every penny
