Amazon has the Beyerdynamic T51i at a similar discount now for $225.   I was tempted by the DT-1350 but my huge head makes the significantly less clampy T51i a better choice for me.  I understand the T51i is identical to the T51p except it has an IOS mike.

Denon makes some nice AVRs. I still love my old AVR-2309.

I hopped in, I'll see how things go with it. I need a better DAC/HP amp for work.

Best to check the Stereophile review measurements of this device. For instance, there's a bass boost built into the amp (you can't change it) on the speaker output and cross talk was meh considering the price. And then looks like there is some rolloff below 70hz on the headphone output. I would bet that for $499, you could easily get a better DAC/headphone amp if that's all you need (instead of the other features).
