What cartridge did the old one come with?  What other improvements were made?

I think the same cartridge was provided. The update was a better quieter motor.

Dam thats a deal for New Over the ears. I got mine for 125 I think last year around December used like new. I kind of wish I got them in brown instead of black, brown looks a bit more classy.
 
Im surprised they still have the Amperiors Available as NEW. Must......resist......urge...from.....buying...another....pair....
 
EDIT: I take that back about the Momentum Over Ear about brown being more classy. That shiny brown/gold looks bleh. My black ones are better lol.
 
The Amperiors are looking at me but I cant justify them being better than my momentums......
 
I think ill pass. Im sure they are better than the momentum on ears though....

They are not brand new. The Momentum Over Ears are "Like New, Store Return." The Amperiors are "Factory Refurbished by Sennheiser."

Factory authorized full warrant fast shipping. I ordered on a Sat received Wed FL to NY.
They were untouched just no retail box. Cables sealed plastic still on earpads. I also got my Hd558 from them new.
