Not sure if I should thank you or curse you...
I resisted the Buydig deal for $74 last week.  But couldn't stay away from this one.  Just sold my alpha so lets see how different these are.

I used to have the Alpha, and got the Beta from buydig.
 
The Beta is pretty much exactly what you think it is - the Alpha driver in a different housing. I like the Beta housing better because you can fit it deeper into your ear canal than the Alpha, which leads to better seal and improved bass extension. I'm wearing them with the cable wrapping around your ear (same way you'd wear the Alphas).
 
Oh, and the cable is a MMCX cable.

Yes, but they are not a current model.  These are bigger than the current SP22, which are an evolution of the SP21.  There is no current version of the SP41. The old SP41 has a 5 1/4 inch woofer; the SP22 (like the old SP21) has a 4 inch woofer.

yes, but they are the first generation. I have some and I really don't tlike them nearrly as much as Polk 30s. I can't even sell mine on craigslist for $40
