instead of list 399 says that it includes Denon HD7100 mahogany over ear headphones.
as an "accessory"  these phones are on Amazon for 971$ so i doubt they
are thrown in as a freebee, maybe a picture of them, is?  i contacted touchofmodern.com
to ask about this claim on their website, but no response yet.  that would indeed
be the Deal of the Year.....

TBH, I wouldn't be super shocked if the D7100 was included... by all accounts that headphone was a massive flop and I'm sure existing stock will need to be liquidated at some point. Though I do notice that it is still up on the Denon USA page at the original MSRP of $1199.99 and most other third party retailers seem to have them up still as well. It's possible that this is merely stage 1 of the liquidation... or it's just a bad copy/paste job by someone.

I guess that's enough speculation for now from me

I have no reason to buy that denon amp/dac but if it comes with free headphones that are at least decent I'm in. If they were 1k I'm sure they aren't terrible for free!

I had them for a few months.  They are not bad at all, just overpriced and really no better than the D600 and nowhere near as good as the early models. 
 
I would go for that deal in a heartbeat.  I bought and sold my D7100 for $425 I believe and to me that was the right range.

Heard from DrBlue a short while ago, he hadn't heard back, any other feedback is welcome, of course. As I said to him, this likely falls into the "if it sounds too good to be true, it likely is" category, but I'd love to be wrong.
