They're good at 80, but if you can find a used re262 around 110 like I did that's even better! Also havi b3 pro1 Is decent at 60, they may even go further on sale for bf who knows. Re400 at 5o Is an absolute steal. I never had a problem with build in the few month's I had mine and in very very rough on iems, except the 262 I babied those beauties.

Thanks, I did some further reading and I don't think these are for me.  Now I'm kinda bummed I missed the RE-400 for $50.  Are they worth the current sale price of $80?  I don't know that the Deals thread is going to bite on the $80 one when they were $50 a few days ago... but they're supposed to be good even at $100.

Very subjective call. My son likes them, but he like s flat sound. If you prefer a fun sound, you will not like the RE-400s.

With regards to the HD700's at 423. They are charging sales tax! I've never seen that in my state (New Mexico) for internet orders unless the on-line retailer has a store in the state, which I imaging See doesn't. UG.

I prefer flat or very slight V.  The SoundMAGIC HP100 is a good example of an awesome all-arounder for me.

Just curious, how can you tell what's coming up as a lightning deal?

Also, the ESP-950 are not planar, they are electrostats.

Hunh...

I had thought all electrostatics were planar.  Thanks for mentioning that, I'll have to do some reading, I guess.  Only downside to that being I will begin to believe I need them.  Looks like the deal starts at 2:30 US West Coast time.

That $40 is giving me pause. At straight up $423, I probably would have gone for it last night.

Me too. Reselling for $460 should not be hard, but reselling for $423 would be easier :)

Now to see what the lightning deal on the ES9-950s look like !

$698.99 for Koss ESP 950, not bad, but not great either. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000056ULH/ref=gb1h_img_c-2_6602_98df11d0?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_t=701&pf_rd_s=center-new-2&pf_rd_r=19R82E3073YYKB4A23JH&pf_rd_i=20&pf_rd_p=1965626602

I'm one of the one who backed out. The price seems decent to me, but not low enough to bite as koss do send out coupon and sales for 25% off. Amazon charge me tax so not far off from koss sale price.

Curious about the electrostats, but not $700 curious.  @Evshrug just picked up a vintage Stax off eBay for ~$250 and he's raving about em.

Yeah but that's $700 for both headphone and amp.
