There's a Dragonfly 1.0 on the classifieds for $85 shipped.  I'd grab that if you're considering an E7.

Or get one new from Audio Advisor for $99. http://www.audioadvisor.com/AudioQuest-Dragonfly-v10-USB-Digital-Audio-Converter/productinfo/AQDRFLY%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20%20/#.U3OakvldVRo

Or on amazon, also for $99: http://smile.amazon.com/AudioQuest-DragonFly-Digital-Converter-Version/dp/B00882U782/

Another used T1 from bd-USA on eBay for 599
Last time I pulled the trigger , it's your turn now.
Please note the it might not be the cleanest condition. Mine got a couple of stains on the metal grill, but just cosmetic , nothing major

Is the newer version worth the extra $50? I'm thinking about one of these for a mobile rig with a MBP, but also considering an X3 for a DAP and portable DAC.

If you're considering more for the 1.2 (or 1.1?) then I would suggest going to a Audioengine D3. All reviews who've had both say the D3 surpasses the 1.0 by a fair amount.

Should I jump on T5p for $650?  I'm sick of listening Pro750 on commute all the time.  Do I hear yay or nay?

the newer version is seriously better than  the original version! more liquid, better instrument separation, more power. well worth the extra moolah.!!!
but the original is better than any pc oem inbuilt dac chip...
