What about the 449? Seems to be the newer version of the 439 and not bad for $80.

I haven't heard the 449. I think you can get the HD558 for $110 or so new. Probably should be most decided whether you need a closed back headphone or not. The HD558 is open.

So I've lurked these forums for quite a while. Figured I'd post where I just got what I think is a smoking deal. Picked up a like new set of AKG Q701's in green for $75.66 T this page:

There's nothing there now, but it might be worth keeping an eye on if you're in the market for these. It's kind of a strange listing with the German description, and when I googled the ASIN number it corresponded to the UK and German Amazon sites. I'll be sur to post back when it arrives with pictures.

I plan on using this as a headset with an Astro Mixamp. Now the search begins for a headphone amp and/or DAC.

I've posted this before, but the Sennheiser HD 598s are still $150 from fry's. Obviously not as good at $106 open box, but the deal is on!
Last time I posted this someone went on a tirade about how horrible fry's service is... I bought these for $187, then got $37 refunded over the phone when the price dropped to $150 and THEN returned them later due to finding a deal on open box Sony MA-900s. So all in all, I think it's a good place to buy

As I mentioned before, Best Buy price-matches Fry's (it's in their list to PM). So, if your Best Buy has stock, you can price match there. Or, call Best Buy's 800 number and price-match that way.

What did you get the MA900 for if I may ask? And where?

I bought them at the sony store in the galleria mall in Houston. I had to dig around their closet full of open box models. They had 2 of them which did not come with a box or carrying case. $150 and they threw in a free warranty (2 years I believe) with it.

Not a sale (deal) per say, but the Blox BE5 is back in stock for $95 shipped.
 
I bought one from the "first batch" and they sound like the GR07BE without the isolation and prone to sibilance.
These are my only higher end pair of earbuds so I cannot compare to the likes of other Blox or Yuin pairs.
