The Deals DISCUSSION Thread (READ THE FIRST POST!!!)

Im seeing the momentums more and more being bought. How is the sound quality with these compared to other portable headphones like the v moda m80 or m100 or even AT M50? are they worth the 150 dollars for what it offers?

I see they even have a mic which is cool because im always riding the bus and i hate having to hold my phone when talking and wearing my IEM, which dont have a mic but want that complete isolation.

wow im everywhere with this lol

I for one loved the sound of the momentums. Bass is deep and assertive but never too much. For reference I really like the sound of my ER4PTs and the Q701s. And I don't feel that the mid and treble of the Momentums are in anyway compromised because of the bass.

I've never been a huge fan of Sennheiser to be honest, except for the Momentum.

I've had the Amperior before. They were clear and fast. With both the Momemtum and the Amperior, the issue that ultimately made me get rid of them was because of the fit. The fit is rage inducing with a lot of head clamp pain and ear pains.

They have mixed reviews, some people like them but some people don't. The main complaints are too much bass and not enough mids. Because of the mixed reviews I went with Amperior instead which seemed to be more universally praised. I like the Amperior but I don't know if they're still readily available (they're out of production). I got mine from sonicelectronix.com.

Also, in response to the person who was asking about the AKG K550/K545, I have the K550 and it doesn't have much midbass but it has a very generous amount of subbass. I think when people say that the K550 "lacks bass", they are referring to midbass. I agree with that, I think it's midbass is neutral, but the subbass more than makes up for it, especially since I listen to electronic music often.

Nobody's excited about W4 deal? I've been wondering why it wasn't being marked down as a discontinued model, really nice iem, imo. W40 better, but costs $400-500.
Have the Amperiors, feel OK to me on head...another in the similar range is the Beyer 1350, though didn't like these until I heard them well amped (Geek Out 1000). All can be found for about the same price.

Good dudes there. I stop in when I'm in the area. It's a great place to kill a couple of hours. Lot of high end used gear and pretty good prices. They used to do mostly used.

Echo.........get it.
