It's my all-time favorite album, so I've listened to it at least a couple 1000 times. It was just so much more with those `phones (and most other e-stats), it's an extremely well-mixed album for good cans.

I have Deezer Elite pumping FLAC through a Sonos wireless box.  I then go coax optical from the Sonos to my DAC to work around the DAC in the Sonos.  Great stuff and I don't have to worry about wiring in a laptop, player, storage limitations, etc...  I can also check if a track/album/cd is flac or not and build playlists, etc...  Got half off for the first year with the Sonos Connect purchase.  Real pleased so far.

Premium is 320k MP3.  Half the price of Tidal, the SQ difference should be inaudible to most people, and it's got a much bigger library (though I understand that it depends on what you listen to).

 I was having the hardest time deciding between the Q701 or the used K712 in the classifieds.  Your post made it a much easier decision (sorry to the person selling the K712)

 
 

  Manufacturer refurbished AKG Q701 sold and shipped by Harman Kardon on eBay for $150. Quite possibly a better deal than the Amazon Warehouse Deals which may have comestic damage and cost roughly the same to a little bit more.

 Just wanted to say thanks again for posting this.  These arrived last weekend and I have been enjoying them immensely.  The box was a little rough, and the cable is a little dirty, but the headphones are flawless.

320, I believe, but most of the time when I am using it which is generally more often for music discovery or streaming to a bluetooth speaker, I am on the go with my phone and don't want to be streaming hi-rez. I have other means of listening to that when I want to. Spotify premium is perfect for my needs.

To me it's totally worth it for the whole family but when I asked my wife she said no way
