if you're returning something because you don't like it, yes. if you're returning something because it's broken, damaged, counterfeit, etc. return postage is refunded. there is some hassle there to get it refunded but at the end of the day it is.

the majority of times i've never been requested to send a damaged item back, the refund is immediate.

now if you want to talk about where ebay truly sucks, it's from their treatment of sellers.

Again, that's just not true. Regardless of the reason for the return (yes even if it's a blatant fake), it is entirely up to the seller whether or not to reimburse return postage. Some do, most don't. A seller of counterfeits likely will not, in fact many of them count on the cost of return shipping to deter buyers from making returns.

I fully agree that eBay treats sellers horribly. However they don't care about protecting buyers either.

i put that in and took it out of my cart so many times this morning. feels like you can get it for $25 less used.

i will say if they offered free shipping, it would have been a done deal though.

Sennheiser Momentum Wireless Over Ear in Ivory for $425 shipped. I just ordered a pair by calling in and asking them to apply the FEB2015 coupon code to them, and he did without issue. They ship from Charlotte, NC warehouse. Only Ivory are in stock per the salesman.

That eBay and Paypal are foolproof is a misconception propagated by ignorant people.

eBay goods must be returned (with tracking if you're dealing with someone dodgey) before you get a refund. You pay for return postage. International shipping with tracking makes many returns not worthwhile.

Also not foolproof when it says your item was delivered and you never received it.

I wouldn't recommend the HRT Microstreamer if you're gong to use it on a PC.  Check the feedback thread.  It's super finnicky and needs lots of software fiddling to get it to work.  Mine worked fine on one computer and wouldn't work on another.  They sent me a HUGE list of troubleshooting steps and I pretty much said "F* it" and sold it to a guy using it on a Mac.  He had no issues with it.

I replaced it with an Audioengine D3 which has served me well for months.  Got it for $120 off Massdrop.

Don't intend to make this into a debate, but issues with the Microstreamer must be in the extreme minority.  I had two (new and used) with zero issues on my PC. If it doesn't work, return it.  Something you can't do with 2nd hand purchase or through MD - keep this in mind.

I've used it on two Windows laptops at home, four different work PCs and a Windows tablet - every instance was plug 'n play, no troubles and sounds great.

Yup, no debate intended.  I'm just suggesting doing some research before buying so he can decide for himself.  In the impressions thread, the guys at HRT admit that there can be issues because of the way the device works (it cuts out on purpose under certain circumstances).

FWIW, it sounded fine when it worked.  *shrug*  But there are a lot of options out there like the Meridian, Audiofly, Audioengine, CEntrance, etc.
