The German Maestro GMP 400 is down to $250 on Amazon and might go even lower. Last year at this time it went all the way down to $175. I just got them and I'm pretty impressed. They are similar to my HD600 but with more bass. I don't think they are technically quite as good as the HD600 but its close and if you need more bass than the HD600/HD650 has I could see you preferring the GMP400 and even considering it "better".

If any of you guys is looking for good deal on a headphone with  neutral signature you should look at the Martin Logan Mikros 90 - they are going for $59 on NewEgg right now.   The signature is very similar to the DT1350.
 
I don't think there is a better headphone at that price on this planet.
