I think this is why sellers there are careful to not include the brand name or image in any of their listings. Then they can say "hey look, I didn't claim this was genuine" to and cover their ass.
 
As for the Vsonic, Vsonic is a Chinese company, so I think it's plausible that they are in fact genuine. The site also seems to sell the new VSD3 at MSRP, for instance.

It's interesting that the list seems to have changed...it listed at about $300 initially, then was supposed to be discontinued, now seems to have found a new life at the lower price. It is a bit controversial, but I think they are a great buy at the price.

Hmmm....other posts got in between my slow phone post and the one I was writing about...The ML 90's were what I was referring to. Either ML made a kazillion that they couldn't sell, or they have gotten a new lease on life at the lower price (if they did get revived, it is likely all the Head-Fi posting and enthusiasm that brought them back from the dead

I forgot they initially listed for $300, so I didn't make your post's connection. If you get a good pair of the Mikros 90's, they are rather stellar imo. My 2nd has a very nice amount of bass, and I love it. Well, apart from the lack of comfort I get with them (although others have no problems). I wish that Martin Logan would put out an over the ear set of headphones (or an on-ears as comfy as the M500's).
