Thanks. I demo'ing an 800s and am very impressed. The soundstage & definition of an orchestra is something special. No, it’s supposedly going up on 2/14 and will have a link in the description.
I'm wondering if the 8xx would be similar.

I would do your homework on the 8xx.Thanks. I demo'ing an 800s and am very impressed. The soundstage & definition of an orchestra is something special.

People have said it’s tuned differently from the 800s.
I use the HD800s every day and couldn’t be happier.
Powered from a TT2 or Mojo2.
I believe the HD8XX is based on the 800s, not the 800. I’d watch reviews as there’s diverging opinions on it. Some hate the tuning, some like it a lot. EQ can correct some tuning issues as well. It’s not really a portable device, so EQ is easy to implement via PC. For $699, the pros may outweigh the cons, but they may not.I would do your homework on the 8xx.

I'm also searching for a trusted dealer "open box" 800s
Any US recommendations?
I find the 800s to be a significant upgrade to my Beyer T1.2

They are good for open box deals, also give them a call they can work in a discount in a brand new one.
UM Mest 2.Any particular stand outs in here?
I'm tempted to try the new MEXT for less than $1k

According to one Amazon review, they also fit hairbands or bobbi pins, so that you can wear it with your animalia onesie.

OPEN BOX GALAXY BUDS 2 $72
https://sellout.woot.com/offers/samsung-galaxy-buds2-true-wireless-anc-earbuds-open-box-11
Normal price is I believe $120 and sometimes for certain colors you can get like $10-15 off
This is better than the price I paid for these new from Amazon Business with a pretty big coupon...
For anyone wondering first off the AKG N400 is still $50 and I prefer it so for me that remains the better buy HOWEVER!
The AKG N400 doesn't have as good separation, the soundstages background isn't as empty and therefore natural, and the Buds 2 have a waaay more natural tone, staging and timbre, prefer the BUDS 2for movies by far, closer to neutral despite FR and def. way more neutral/natural timbre.
The Buds 2 I believe are IPX4 IIRC, the N400 is IPX7 though.... besides that nothing else matters EXCEPT
for me the AKG N400 are finnicky as hell with BT, took a lot to figure out how to pair to PC and when I tried to update drivers to unlock Apt X on an intel chip with it software locked they refused to connect(probably needs driver wipe and reinstall OEM), meanwhile everything else connects fine, also with N400 pro you cannot force connection, it connects to 1 thing first PC or Phone and if it's in range you have to disconnect from the connected device(again cannot force it to switch connection)
I don't use the buds software so idk but N400 has nice EQ, great controls, much better and more than pro as far as I know with the slide actions, all around very much a buy, except the bluetooth issues that I mentioned(other have mentioned the same, this is not isolated, if you buy vs the Buds 2 I suggest you be ready to possibly troubleshoot with tech support that cannot help, the Buds 2 works like every other bluetooth set, not sure why the N400 was made this way)
But overall they are "equal" but I strongly prefer the engulfing soundstage, warmer tone all around of the N400 for music but also like the Buds 2 for movies and suggest for anyone with $120ish laying around who was before considering buying one or the other to buy both, and for N400 buyers the Buds 2 ARE worth it, easier to work with, sound diffrent and good enough, but you lose some objectively good features N400 has!
