Not sure how everyone else feels about purchasing goods internationally but Amazon Italy has a pair of Focal Spirit Classics for 182.50 Euros or about 247.00 USD. It's confirmed they will ship to the US because I bought a pair last night =]

The Amperior is comfier whether you wear glasses or not and if you do wear glasses its probably an even bigger difference in comfort. I wear glasses and it causes discomfort with the DT1350 after an hour or two. With the Amperiors my glasses have no effect on their comfort. Overall the Amperiors are significantly comfier IMO but the DT1350 might be comparable if you use the velour pads on it.

EDIT: Now that I think more about it, the Amperior is slightly less comfy when I'm wearing my glasses but its not as bad as it is with the DT1350's. Sonically the DT1350's are superior IMO but I actually like the Amperior more because of the added comfort and better soundstage.

I tried DT 1350, and I think Amperior sound better. Better in my term means more musical compare to a flat sounding DT 1350. And DT 1350 earpads are smaller than Amperior earpads so I'm having difficulty positioning the pad on my ear. Another thing I like about Amperior is availability of replacement cable without mod. Oyaida cable came in blue, red, yellow, silver and black color. I even found ciled cable replacement. I knew a guy that do balanced cable mod to his DT 1350, he need to drill the other side of ear cup.

Back to the deal, I read at Amperior thread someone manage to buy for $119 from bestbuy. I bought mine for $145 from newegg, and yup the price it self still better than DT 1350 deal. :p

Here's measurement data on the 10R and 1R. I'm assuming the 10RC is the same thing as the 10R sound-wise.

10R: http://en.goldenears.net/26603
1R: http://en.goldenears.net/28027

Quick highlights: Neither have good subbass extension. 10R has more of a midbass hump. Treble seems strong on both although 1R's treble looks a little more cohesive.

  *sigh*

Kakuz, you aren't getting good info here. Check out the 10R thread. There are lots of comparisons between the two. Don't trust frequency response graphs, especially when being interpreted without having first hand experience of the sonics. It all means almost nothing.

Comment on above quotes:
One thing I've learned is that my preferences align more with some folks than others in the comparison threads.  Doesn't mean anyone's wrong; we're either hearing a little differently or looking for something different in the sound signature.  Once I do know that I have similar 'hearing' with another Head-Fier, it allows me to lean more on their opinions when evaluating options.

I say this having bought some 'Budget Kings' (DJ100) based on some great reviews in the appreciation/comparison threads and then being underwhelmed!  Later I ended up getting the KRK8400s for a little less and like them a lot more.

A quote from Tyll's article, "Headphone Measurement Proceedures - Introduction and Equipment" on Innerfidelity.com
  1. "What I’m trying to get at here is that I’ve found the correlation between headphone measurements and the listening experience quite a bit stronger than with speaker or electronics measurements. Though this may simply be a result of my intimate familiarity with headphone measurements. At any rate, I think you’ll find this journey into objective headphone evaluation interesting and illuminating."
  2. Another interesting page on his site where he correlates square wave response to sound signatures - http://www.innerfidelity.com/content/headphone-measurements-explained-square-wave-response-page-2

FWIW, Tyll's take on headphones via listening and measurement have been pretty spot on for me and I find value in looking at the measurements as a starting point and then choosing what headphones I'd like to listen to...letting my ears be the final judge of course.

~$95 less than Amazon's lowest, $4 less than Amazon 3rd party lowest.

Don't know anything about these but they seem pretty clear about the basshead aspect. Which means you aren't fighting me for a pair.

I actually agree with a lot of this. My point was that if you haven't had experience with the headphone in question, then it's probably not a good idea to just pull up charts and quote them like it's true. They only show one side of the story and it's not fair to the people who are asking for feedback. And now your deals...

Cheapest I've ever seen these new.  However, think I'll pass since I already have the V-Moda M-80s which I think would be an upgrade.
