Some drops on Massdrop i find interesting
Brainwavz HM5 $80
CTH + SDAC $320
Koss KPH30i $20 + shipping

That HM5 is pretty tempting. That price puts it in the range of the generic/rebranded HM5 options, and the extra set of HM5 pads is a huge selling point.

This is a bit misleading cause while not generic Brainwavz is a rebrand of the original Fischer TA-300 Ti who I'm pretty sure is the OEM manufacturer. At least they were the 1st importer. (Fischer currently offers 7 versions of the TA-300 in different finishes). Nearly all of the rebrands come with a 2nd set of pads, The $56 NVX comes with a standard set and an angled set. Fischer's come with a velour set and a pleather set. Brainwavz comes with 2 identical pleather sets. The real advantage of Brainwavz I think are a nicer and smaller hard case, and their larger USA based support/ warranty network.

I just received my $56 NVX from Sonic, and agree with the reviews - Very comfortable, build is fine for an under $150 phone (but not luxurious), and a very flat monitor type tonal balance. This last part I like less than I thought I would, typical Seinheiser/Beyer audiophile closed cans have a bit more of a smile frequency response which is perhaps less accurate, but more fun for some.

Is this the first version with the

Is that the fist version of the M1060 with the mmcx connectors?

No idea. I had asked BuyDig on this previously. They say that they receive white boxes from Monoprice to resell as open boxes. They don't open them and no idea which version is in there. So it's random which version you get from what I've been able to research from others that have bought these from BuyDig.

Probably a high chance they would be the first version then if they are from monoprice.

If you are a fan of Zeos, you'll recognize this headphone as a recent review of his. TLDR: Beryllium bass cannons.

RBH HP-2 on sale from the manufacturer for $139, down from $199.

Damn this thread! I got another headphone, like I really need it. The pioneer Se-mh5 or whatever blew me away. We'll see about this.
