Were you able to get the code to work recently? I just tried to get a pair for my daughter and got this message when trying to apply the coupon:

"The promo code EMCSBRRF6 cannot be combined with combo deals or gift items attached to products."

Oh nice! I'm actually waiting for the Dark voice drop on massdrop again, is this better? Looking for my first Tube amp.

The crack is a great amp, but only for high impudence headphones 150ohm or greater. Plus, you have to / get to build it. "Better"? Depends on what you are looking for.

It is a reasonably straightforward design, excellent for novice level DIY projects. If you possess or have access to electronic test equipment (basic multimeter required), troubleshooting malfunctions can be rectified cheaper and quicker than RMA'ing to a manufacturer. In addition, the resell value tends to be more than the regular kit price so you should be able to profit or at least break even with clean build. If you want to advance familiarity in electronic theory there are tons of components that can be enhanced or altered to numerous specifications.
