Also, on the Musicteck site I see there is the Opus #3 that I've not seen discussed - priced between the #1 & #2. Is this a recent release? Anyone's thoughts on the #3 would be appreciated as well.

Are these supposed to sound like HE400S or HE400i? Anyone know? The FR graph shows considerable low bass roll off. Wonder if they'll be as comfy as the original headband design.

There's extensive discussion on the MassDrop site. Since this is a new MassDrop item, no one here knows anything about them which isn't drawn from that source. However, the discussion suggests that MassDrop and HifiMan are being a bit coy about what secret sauce is in these cans. One MassDrop poster says they can't discuss the drivers per their agreement with HifiMan.
