Not really insane. The 600 is 400 with a 150 gift card from Amazon, so only $15 cheaper from adorama. Still, it's a good deal

well I picked up the 650's for 285 after rebate and no tax. Amazon charges me tax. I looked and Amazon doesn't have a comparable deal for the 650's anyway and I think most people would rather have the cash in their bank account instead of being tied up in Amazon gift cards.

Not really cheaper considering you have to spend $400 to get the deal. $150 rebate would be a different story.

I couldn't listen to them. Way too bright in the 5k region to the point of being painful. I think it's fit dependent (ear canal resonances) so YMMV.

most likely new since they started production of the 2016 update back in November of 2015. But there is most likely no way to know for sure. Only thing I would suggest is to take advantage of Adorama's really nice return policy and take the plunge on a pair and when you get them contact Audeze support and ask them with your serial number. If they happen to be the old version you could just send them back within 30 days.

you have to wait for the headphones to arrive. There will be a sticker on the box with the serial number, UPC code and other info. You will need to razor that off the box and mail it in with the rebate. Just wait. You don't have to have the rebate done before the 22nd. You just have to have purchased the item before that date which your invoice will show.
