Sounds like you're going to have to wait a WHILE, don't think it's ever been that low.  Anyways, last time HD600 series price dropped below $300, Sennheiser did something and retailers all increased the prices.

I am hoping something comes up around ThanksGiving / BF. Headphones seem to get lot of deals around that, looking at last two years
 
Last year there were some crazy prices like a DT880 Pro for $99 on SonicElecx(might have been a site mistake but i remember that they have honored it). HD598 SE for ~ $80. Sonic also had some crazy bundles that i cant remember

Yes, last year brought some crazy good prices. Around Dec. 14 Focus Camera had the DT880 600-ohm for $99. I was in time to grab one at that price. I thought that was going to be my big bargain of the season. 
 
But then on January 4, Sonic Electronix put the HifiMan HE-400i on sale for $259. There was an outstanding 10%-off coupon that Sonic honored, further reducing the price to $233 for brand-new 400i.

I think the only time the 600's will get that low is if they're replaced by a new version and they're clearing out inventories.  Maybe you can find some returned stock or the like in the meantime...some of that stuff is brand new for all practical purposes.

IMO they are worth double what they sell for now... There's a very good reason they have yet to be discontinued 20 years later (they're very good). I wouldn't hold my breath for a price drop that low; and even if it happened, this would all be time lost you could have been enjoying them

I hear you, but i'm in no rush, i've got my HE400i to keep me company.
 
Also, it would be nice to snag a good deal on something that you've waited a long time for
