  Why does the amazon and ebay etymotic mc2 look different? The amazon one looks metalic and glossy, while the ebay one looks cheap and plastic. I'd like to buy it from amazon, but I have a doubt that the cheap looking one plastic one's going to get shipped

 
The MC2 is plastic. The image shown on the eBay is the older version. The image shown on Amazon is the newer version. Here's the link to the newer version on Amazon. The older version is the one available for $20.
 
This search shows both side by side. It shows the original image on the search page but the new image when you open the listing.

I had the HF3 which was the upgraded version of the MC3. The MC3 didn't sound bad but the HF3 was an overall upgrade in every area. Faster, more accurate, more air. I'm guessing the differences are the same between the MC2 and HF2. Still a good deal for $20.

I had bought the mc2 last week from secondipity for $29 and the one I got was the new version. It does not sound great but it is good for the price I paid. It is the same seller so I would guess it may be the new one.

When you add them to cart it'll take you do your cart. From there there is a little check box under the "Update Cart" button that says "Use a Promo Code". 
When you check the box a new box will appear for you to put in the coupon.

The HF earphones are not upgraded versions of the MC earphones. HF's are balanced armiture and MC's are dynamic.
