The Beyerdynamic DT250 Thread

Beyerdynamic DT250/250Ohm drivers in wood. Thought I should give these nice drivers an enclosure they deserve. Stock Beyer velour pads, Brainwavz HM5 headband. Cups have open-cell foam damping, and the cups had to be hermetically sealed (no venting) to obtain best results.

Ok, those are just plain beautiful. The DT250-250 are one of my favorite closed phones, and those really must be awesome.

Thanks to to this thread I'm now the happy owner of a pair of DT-250s. They're really comfortable for me even with the tight grip which I'm pleased with. Nice flat, clean sound with surprisingly tight, deep bass. :D

The Bass sounds so tight, very snappy compared to my dt880's .

Just wondering, has anyone bought these from amazon.ca for $22.50:

http://www.amazon.ca/Beyerdynamic-EDT250S-Headphone-Pads-Black/dp/B000CZ0RDI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1399038529&sr=8-1&keywords=dt250

They are listed as earpads but product details and reviews suggest these might be headphones.

Edit: Also, the picture shows headphones rather than pads.

The product details say:

  1. Soft skin
  2. Sold as set of 2 each
  3. Original beyerdynamic replacement ear pads

Sounds like Amazon just being lazy about the image and mixing up reviews for products like they frequently do.

Yes, it's worth a try. If they do send you pads you should be able to return them, expenses paid, on the grounds of misleading information.

This can does not seem to benefit from burn in. The sound seems the same out of the box and after past 72 hours of continuous burn-in. Unlike my T1 which has substantial different in sound out of the box and after 50 hours or burn-in.

Because the DT250 has a very neutral sound and your ears do not have to adapt to it very much because it sounds like it's supposed to sound. Unlike the T1, which has spiked treble and requires you to get used to it's sound signature, which you interpret as a burn in effect.
