Surely buying headphones just for visual appeal is a bit like choosing a woman because she has big t*ts?

 Ah, but some of us are picky. I want a girl thats smart, funny, has character, but that I'm also happy to take out in public.
 
Same with my headphones, If you're going to pay that much for either, you want a pleasing package, both intellectually and asthetically.
 
Then again, here we're all about nice cans

Besides Sony's Qualia 010 & MDR-R10, I really like the AKG 701/702.  From my experience, all of my friends who have seen my 702 were impressed.  The 701 is even more visually appealing to some people and I liked AKG's 272 HD when I saw in it person.
 
Sony's MDR-SA5000 or Sennheiser's HD 800 could also work.
