oh ok, really thank you, i just asking because in violin the sound quality change too much with the wood. cheers.

Yeah the LCD2's and 3's don't use the wood in relation to acoustics. It's more aesthetics than anything else. The Bamboo will be lighter in weight and is a stronger more durable wood. But I wouldn't blame anyone still going for the Rosewood because they do look very nice.

I can't keep from looking at this over the days.  Re-read the Stereophile review.  Femto clock!?!?  Insane.  What must this sound like?  Jeez this is good looking.

You're getting that $20,000 DAC? Damn! Nice! And the power base to go with it I hope?

MSB designs their own R2R DACs and are probably the most skilled digital designers in the industry. The detail on some of those things is insanely sharp and razor like. The only thing I think could use some work is the analog output stage but I haven't heard this newest top model yet. Paired with an amp with a little warmth and soul they sound incredible though. Some people find them too sterile but they do exactly what a DAC should do and they do it like no other. It's for people who want to leave the coloration to their amp and speakers/headphones. The Diamond DAC IV has the widest dynamic range of any DAC on the market, though you'd never fully utilize it. Hopefully the power base does it justice.

I'm extremely happy with my front end and the MSB is one of the only units I'd consider replacing it with, if I had that kind of spare money lying around.

The Bamboo LCD2 weighs 507g (1lb 1.9oz) and the Rosewood weighs 532g (1lb 2.8oz).  Difference is a little under 1oz.

I've only read of one issue recently and that was a cable/connector one. Apart from that nothing on here about any probs
