So, how's the update for everyone and does the USB out pass DSD unaltered?

I haven't really noticed any sonic differences for normal use.

When you select settings > USB Audio > DSD Output Format you have two options:

PCM: DSD input signals are converted into PCM signals.

DoP: DSD input signals are converted into DoP signals.

Hope that helps

I have upgraded, it is supposed to add USB capabiliyy. The sound stage is wide and great but BT is still very poor. I use an external rechargeable transmitter/reciever with silver cable. Great quality and distance! Still amazed that a $2500 device can't get better than a $29.00 device!

I installed the update.  I'm anxious to try USB mode with my Chord Hugo.  Can someone explain how and where to connect a USB cable between the two devices?  Seems to me I'll be needing to order some sort of cable.

This cable worked just fine for me:

It's not audiophile quality by any means, but it'll do for now.

I am clearly missing something.  Does the USB in on the AK240 act as the port for transferring USB audio out?  So I'd need a double USB 2.0 mini jack on either end of the cable for the Hugo or Mojo?

My post may have been misleading for some.  The USB OTG to USB B is what works for my amp (Woo WA8).

For the Mojo - others can correct me if I'm wrong - but I think this is what you'll need:

I'm new at this, so maybe I shouldn't be offering advice yet. :)

Yes. It is said to add USB function but I do not use mine for that. I still discern that the sound stage is wide. I use a 256GB 90 mb it's SDXC card and it works to.max out capacity. The internal BT is still dismal. Poor range of 5 feet without obstructions -even putting it behind yourself it fails. Very disturbing that a $2500 device can't transmit and odd that AK advises to use it for only low res files??? So I use an external Brighttech trans/receiver rechargeable with silver mini cable and get great sound and great transmission even through walls. PS I have spent thousands on IEM'S including Westone 4

More: Fit Ear Togo 334 and Shure SE 848..
but the best sound I can get (with the most comfort is LG-HSB900. Just make sure to get OEM version (not Chinese knockoff). Spent about $50 on them. 11 hours run time per charge and fantastic sound. Money doesn't always buy you happiness!

did someone compare the AK240 with the HM 901S?

I have both AK240 & HM901 w/balanced card. To me the SQ of HM901 wins every single time straight out of the player...but I just can't live with that stone age UI, sorry battery life, and over heating issue on the HM901.

Hence HM901 stays at home as my desktop DAP and AK240 travels with me
