Ok Guys thanks for the tips finally got my 240 Optical Output able to work already just this past weekend, it was right just to let the OUTPUT switch turn to OFF. Now I'm able to listen non-stop music although it doesnt hit DSD level from the Optic Out but it will do for me

I'm happy for you. I love my 240 and don't foresee upgrading it. Now that 256GB microSD cards are available, I can store a half terabyte of music files.

Oh they read the 256g cards? I thought only up to 128gb

  FWIW:

I greatly prefer my AK 240 over the AK 380 I owned.  Smaller size, better sound, significantly less money.

My 240 works fine with the 200GB card, so I expect it would also work fine with the 256GB card. I'm waiting for the current price to drop ($200) before I buy one.

I just got my 240 back from iRiver.  They were going to replace the 2.5 mm socket that was making a poor connection.  I thought the service and $45 price was reasonable.  Unfortunately they didn't fix the problem.  The right channel still cuts out all the time.

So maybe the problem is not the socket in the AK 240 but rather the 2.5 mm plug?  I'm curious if other people have 2.5 mm plugs that have these dimensions.

I get 2.25 mm, 2.44 mm, and 2.5 mm as I measure each contact from the tip of the plug toward the base.  Does anyone know which is the contact for the right channel ?

^ that makes sense because I can get a contact if I wedge the plug to one side in the jack so the tip of the plug makes contact.  Now I'm just wondering if the plug is too small at the tip (2.25 mm) or if the jack is the problem.

Thanks Toolman !

Line out just sets the anolog audio signal output to maximum volume. While the AK line out is not a true line out function, all line out signals are analog audio rather than digital. Because of that you are using the DAC in the AK240 or whatever device you connect to the line input.

Thanks. That means if I use Optical cable to hook up AK240 with mojo, it will use mojo DAC, right?
But if I use 3.5mm to 3.5mm to connect AK240 and ALO CDM, it will utilize AK240 DAC.
