  The EQs you refer to are very subtle.  Using the custom settings (you choose them) will give you more of a change in sound.

I, too, did not notice any changes with the stock EQ settings, but with a little tweaking of the custom EQ, I'm getting exactly the results I want and that sound good to me. Play with it--it's a good way to blow a few hours enjoying what the AK240 can do.  Those presets are someone else's opinion of optimal settings. And we all know opinions are like @ssholes: everyone has one, and more often than not they stink!

On my 120ll there was barely any change at all.  I haven't tried with my new 240SS as I like the sound as is.  Maybe there is a firmware issue?

I hope AK will solve the problem with the next fw. Without equalizing QP1R, to me sound, like AK240 with the AKT5P, considering that it has not burn in as the QP1r. But QP1R is really boring me with the battery indicator issue, so I'd like to set aside it.

I've never been able to tell the difference with it on, with pro, or off. I've found it best for me with my personal EQ settings.

If you are sure that you have to have the EQ you don't feel you are getting, then maybe that is a deal breaker for you.

Unfortunately the internal space of 380 isn't enough to do this kind of modding cause it hasn't to much space to place the amp. I bought my toy a new set of clothes, a Dignis/Borsa DAP bag.  They come from Korea, cost $50 plus a pretty hefty quick shipping fee, but it got here in about five days.  Nice material, my 240SS fits very well (I bought the medium, could have gotten away with the small), nice belt loop, removable strap, well-padded.  Quality pouch.  Nice folks to deal with.  They've got a Korean site and a Korean site in English.

My AK240 does not power-on, did try 12 sec holding power button, still nothing happening

did not drop, overuse, also always handled it like baby. 
 
I got used one year back, do not have original receipt. What would be my option?

Did you buy from authorized dealer? If so contact them via facebook and see if they can repair for free or at a cost. Maybe battery is drained. Use a charger with voltage stronger than computer's usb port.

I brought it used from ebay, so not authorized dealer, can I replace battery myself or need to send to AK for replacement?
 
used stronger charge, the whole unit will become warm after few hrs of charge, so I think it is getting charged and not powering on for some other reason. When it was working a week back, battery used to last for more then 7 hrs of use.
