The red is for when the ak240 is going out for a big night out party and the black is for that classy dinner in a tux. I need both .

Not sure what's the official recommendations, but I have used various wall plug micro USB from 1A to 2.1A rated without any problem.

What is the maximum current draw of the AK240 when charging? Eg does using a wall charger of 2A mean it charges 4 tinmes faster than from a computer?  What is the fastest charge time from empty to full?

I use the Kindle, iPhone (new version) and if I need a faster charge the original iPad wall charger. I've used these on AK120 and AK240 without any problem that I can see.
I usually use the Kindle one and just leave it plugged in overnight if I've gone down to under 10% charge. The Kindle one I believe is the lest powerful.

Aloha Sara
Please Dont use iPad Charger With 2 Ampere , In My opinion slower Charger is better , can extend Your battery live
I use AK Dock stand can faster about 1 hours , use iPhone Charger 1 Ampere take about 5 hours

Curious since the AK240 doesn't come with a charger, what is the max current draw while charging?  Computer USB ports typically give up to 500mA, I have seen wall chargers with typical 5V but current of 1A, 1.5A, 2A etc.  Do these charge faster and if so what is the highest useful to the AK240?  I'm currently using a Samsung 1A charger from my S3 until I find out what the max is.  Don't trust Apple iOS chargers since the AK240 is android based and likely uses a different charging pin out from the Apple devices.

I have used Samsung 1A, 2.1A (Samsung S5), 1.8A (Sony power bank), 2.4A (power bank) chargers and no apparent harm is done.

Was told a faster charger also discharge faster, but I didn't really notice the difference in battery drain.

Until AK cones out with a recommended charger, I guess I won't know.

Firmware v1.11 has still not fixed the playlist problem with songs saved on SD card.

As much as I'm happy with AK240 in general, someone at A&K needs to be burned for that. Is it that hard to make playlists work properly?

Any mention of fixing MQS streaming? I cannot get it to work with my Mac- it starts to open and sync and then immediately closes.

call Jimmy Moon. i am going to try that on Monday and see if it will streamline the imac library. There is a android download you need.

I've already communicated with Jimmy,-who is very courteous-several times. He was contacting support at iriver. No response yet.
I have the latest Android download, but it may be a glitch in the MQS streaming download. Thank you for responding; I'm loving the incredible sound of the 240, just wish the software wasn't so "clunky".
