Well, Combining Chord Hugo and AK240, my initial impression is very good! With a few minor problems though.

Hearing the improvements, I suspect Hugo might have a better dac. There are problems though, not sure if it's limited to my unit or all Hugo.

Firstly DSD tracks play but you can't hear anything through the optical connection. For the coaxial connection, all tracks produce no sound.

You can only play DSD files via the HD USB. It is not possible via optical. For coaxial, up to 24/192 is possible.

Amazon has 128 gig cards for $119, there out of stock, and will deliver when they can. But you can lock in that price

Theoretically, but when I connect via coaxial, no tracks work, flac and DSD both. They play quietly but no sound output.

Okay. Maybe I did not make myself clear. When I mention coaxial works on the Hugo, I mean DAPs such as DX100 and DX50 with coaxial outputs. The AK240 only has optical out.

This is not the way it is supposed to be !  The HUGO, for the DAC part, is supposed to be superior to the AK240.

Unfortunately, Hugo doesn't accept analogue signal, so I won't know the better sound quality is due to a better dac, or a better amp, or both.
