That's Pro 82 v2, TaskstarAudio sells only v2.
Don't forget the 5$ coupon in the first post
Hi, do you happen to know if this store sells the second version? I asked them but they didn't answer. There's a comment that says it might be a new revision but nothing to confirm it. The description says it has a 1.6m cable.

Also does the v2 cable have one grey connector and and one black or are they both black? Below is a picture of the headphones someone bought from this store

https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4001084132299.html

The TakstarAudio store doesn't ship to my country, unfortunately, and the official store only sells the first version.

The cable definitely looks like V1. It's identical to the one in my review:

The 1.6m cable in V2 looks like the one in ahmadfaizadnan's review:

The price difference from TakstarAudio wouldn't be worth the risk anyway...

P.S. Welcome to Head-Fi! Sorry about your wallet

That's what I thought, since that is the case I should try to find an mh751. It's unfortunate that takstaraudio store stopped shipping to my country :frowning2:

Thanks hehe

TakstarAudio doesn't ship to Mars, but if you'll ask them to add shipping to a country on Earth, they might do it
Just chat with them in the app.

MH751 sounds worse than any version of Pro 82, due to lack of bass ports.

:floatsmile:I talked to them they said they don't ship anymore. I think it's because my country requires AliExpress standard shipping to be DDP and the store just doesn't want to pay the tax and change the price. Another safer option is the takstar shade from the official store https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004597896737.html Currently I have the hyperx cloud core. From you review the shade is a pro 82 v2 with more bass. I don't know if that is OK for listening to asmr and instrumental music?

Takstar Shade (GM200) is a great option, but only if it has bass ports - there is a version running around without bass ports.
Ask the seller to provide a picture showing the bass ports on their GM200.

GM200 is great for instrumental music, can't comment on ASMR.

P.S. Wait for the 11.11 sale, their current price for GM200 is inflated, so they can provide a "discount" on 11.11

Okay thanks, I will, though it would be ridiculous if the official store also sold fakes  I asked the other store about their Pro 82, and they said that it has a black retail box which from what I read only comes with the v2. But I think I'd rather not gamble and just get the shade from the official store.

Just got my pair of Pro 82’s. I’m blown away how good they sound, and the build quality has exceeded my expectations. They don’t creak or wobble And they are likely one of the most comfortable closed back pairs I’ve tried, definitely more comfortable than the original takstar V1. They are not sibilant or harsh even with violins. They have a surprisingly wide soundstage which works really well for classical music. I keep all the bass switches closed. Thanks for the recommendation guys, loving these. I usually use my Hifiman 400i’s and FLC 8s IEMs when i need ultra portable, these compliment my main drivers well.

Yep, the Pro 82 v2 is a truly amazing headphone.

The best headphone I ever heard is Stax 009 (which I bought) at 3800$. Second best is the original Focal Utopia at 4000$.
Third best - Takstar Pro 82 v2 at ~60$ :jecklinsmile::jecklinsmile::jecklinsmile:
If 009 is 100%, then Utopia is 99% and Pro 82 v2 is 97-98%.

There are many other expensive headphones that I didn't like nearly as much, including Hifiman Shangri-La at 8000$ or Stax 009S at 4300$.

You just have to treat Pro 82 v2 as a 6000$ headphone, not a 60.00$ headphone.
When I first listened to Utopia on a Beyerdynamic A2 amplifier, it sounded OK, but I still liked the Elear (4 times cheaper) more. Next year I heard it on Cayin HA-1A MK2 (using the same DAC), and it fully justified the 4000$ price tag.
Any Sennheiser HD800 owner will tell you how important amp pairings are as well.

So when I say Pro 82 v2 should be treated as a 6000$ headphone, I mean you should pay as much attention to synergy pairings as you would if it would cost 100 times more. People who experience Pro 82 v2 on a sub-optimal chain, will never understand what all the hype is about.

Some synergy pairings can be found here: Comparison of DACs/Amps

I’m using them with a shanling up5 since i got tired of organizing my music collection on the DX120. I actually like these headphones more than the NAD HP50’s i bought to replace. The HP50’s have a boosted midrange which makes the soundstage more intimate. The Takstars have a more 3D sound in comparison with more air around the instruments.

I don't have Shanling UP5, but UP2 and especially UP4 don't have great synergy with Pro 82 v2 - they are too veiled.
My favorite Bluetooth device to use with Pro 82 v2 is BTR3K - they produce borderline synergy-worthy sound together.
BTR5 is also not a good match, so I keep buying BTR3K almost on every sale
I will later post some codes that will allow to purchase BTR3K for under 50$ - you should try it!

What I especially like about BTR3K, is that it's great on both single-ended and balanced output.
On 3.5mm, it has a more musical, tube-y quality with great tonality.
On 2.5mm, it sounds more analytical, but not too technical - still somewhat musical, just without the tube-y quality.
So you can use it to tune the sound to your preference.

There is a sale going on at AliExpress until midnight PST November 17th.
Here are the coupons:
1699821054341.png

"Others code" should work in most countries, including ones with their own codes.
All the country-related codes also have "$8 off over $50", you just have to put "8" at the end of the code, e.g. AEUS8 for US or AEFR8 for France.

Here are some more global coupons:
11SALE8 - $8 off over $50
11SALE15 - $15 off over $100
11SALE30 - $30 off over $200
11SALE40 - $40 off over $250
11SALE50 - $50 off over US $300
11SALE100 - $100 off over US $500

Coupons are "first come first serve" - don't wait too long, they will be used up!

Some Ideas for purchases to which these codes can be applied on top of other discounts:
Takstar Pro 82 v2 - A timeless classic - for 57.89$ (65.89$-8$) https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32808454492.html
Takstar GM200 - Takstar Pro 82 v2 with an elevated bass - for 61.99 (69.99$-8$), minus 5% coin discount https://www.aliexpress.com/item/33012705103.html
FIIO BTR3K - Best sounding Bluetooth adapter, beating much more expensive BTR5 and Q5K - for 45$ (53$-8$), I buy one of these on almost every sale. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005001650813581.html
Temperament BellLBs earpbud - Amazing sound from this cheap earbud, beating their own (3 times more expensive) DB1E. The bass quality is unheard of for earbuds - at 49.5$ minus 6% coin discount. Add another item worth at least 0.5$, and you can use the 8$ coupon!
Important - only buy the black BellLBs or the white BellLB. Do not buy the cheaper black BellLB - it doesn't have the upgraded driver. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005002788439606.html

Hi, back again for my yearly inquiry. We still stanning the 82? I have the BTR3K now and need to replace my old Pro 82 v1's because of general wear and tear plus the left earphone started crackling. Which would you recommend between the Pro 82 v2 and GM200? Or is there another headphone nowadays that's better?

I'm currently out of town for the holiday, and every year I pick a single headphone to travel with. In previous years it was cans like the Meze 99 and Thinksound OV21, but this year I decided to bring the Pro 82 because it's been a while since I gave it a good listen. And yeah, my original impression was and my long-term impression continues to be, the Pro 82 is a real solid headphone in the sub-$100 space. Very difficult to fault it at its price.

You might also consider the Sennheiser 599 SE, which regularly goes on sale around the holidays now for sub-$100. I have to say I prefer the Senn, but it's an open-back, if that matters

Yes, we are still stanning Pro 82

The choice between Pro 82 v2 and GM200 is something like this:
If you want best tonality, imaging and transparency - go with Pro 82 v2.
If you are a bass-head or enjoy bass more than the average bear - go with GM200. Bass-wise, it sounds almost identical to the 1600$ Sennheiser HD820 - HD820 has a little bit more bass, but GM200 has higher quality bass (and still plenty of quantity). Mids and treble are much better on GM200, HD820 often gets shouty and female vocals are off-timbre. Both have the same warm sound signature, but GM200 is just better.

I enjoy both Pro 82 v2 and GM200, at their prices it's not cost prohibitive to get both.
