... Looks like that seller has $13 shipping to Canada + it's only standard shipping so it'd probably take 1-2 months...
Actually, AliExpress Standard Shipping now delivers within 2 weeks to most countries.
And don't forget about the 4$ coupon in the first post!
Is that CM headset really that much worse that I'm better off getting from aliexpress with no warranty and rolling the dice?
Yes, MH751 is significantly worse, mostly due to lack of the bass port:

Interesting. The $6 coupon isn't working for me. I don't think it's 2 weeks to Canada though, at least from my previous experience. I might just get it from Aliexpress anyways if it's that big of a difference.

Looks like $6 coupon only works with this:

There is no 6$ coupon...

Hi everyone,

I´m a beginner when it comes to over-ear headphones but I´m excited to start my over-ear headphone-journey with the Takstar Pro 82 that I´ve ordered but not yet received.

Right now, if I´m not listening to my Definitive Technology Demand D9 (+ sub) at home, I´m using a pair of TinHifi T2 IEMs directly from my phone. I enjoy what I perceive as a rather balanced sound with a slight increase at the top. I get that they are not for bassheads but personally I actually love how they perform with EDM (granted, i have EQd them a little bit with a very minor bump down low and a minor raise up top). I did a listening test and my hearing on higher frequencies is not what it was years and years ago so the raise up top was very satisfying to my ears. I´m using Spotify for all my music-listening, maybe i should take a look at Tidal or something else for better sound quality?

From what I understand I don´t need an amp to drive the Takstar Pro 82 and can drive them directly from my android phone (at the moment a Poco F3) via an Usb-c to 3,5 mm adapter with fine results, or am I wrong?

Best regards,
Northernsound

I am not a fan of T2 - it's decent sounding, but not anything special.
Maybe my standard is too high - I own a bunch of 500-1500$ IEMs, and T2 sounds quite poor compared to them.
Pro 82 is on a whole other level of SQ - it's a proper TOTL headphone.

I prefer Deezer - it's only 15$ a month for lossless, compared to 20$ on Tidal.
And MQA is a scam:

It won't sound best with some cheap USB-C adapter. Even the more expensive ones (Hilidac Audirect Beam 2 at 140$, Hidizs S9 at 95$, Shanling UA2 at 79$) sound fairly mediocre.
You would be better off with FIIO BTR3K at 66$ after the 4$ coupon in the first post - https://www.aliexpress.com/item/4000849710696.html
It sounds fantastic with Pro 82, and gives you the wireless option. Plus you can use it with Pro 82 for calls - it has a microphone. See my review here: https://www.head-fi.org/showcase/fi...lity-bluetooth-amp.24317/reviews#review-24719

I forgot to cancel my MH751 order and I got it in the mail today from amazon and this headset sounds amazing (I've been using Sen 598 SE for the past like 8 years). If this sounds bad compared to to the Pro 82, then the Pro 82 must sounds insanely good.
It does - with the proper sound chain.

Thank you for a very informative answer and your welcoming reply. I will check your links when I have more time and then comment on them. Just so there is no confusion, when I wrote adapter I just ment adapter and not dac. But maybe your answer means that I need a DAC to get the best out of the Takstar Pro 82? I thought 32 ohm-headphones with good sensitivity would be able to be driven directly from a smartphone with good results, from what I´ve read that seems to be true. What you wrote about Takstar Pro 82 compared to TinHifi T2 sounds promising. :)

A regular type C adapter probably will get Pro 82 loud enough, but it won't sound anywhere near its best.
You do need a proper DAC/Amp to get the best SQ from Pro 82. BTR3K is a fantastic option at 66$.

Has anyone tried bass slider, dominate side in position one, opposite side position two?
I would imagine like when wearing contact lenses, one for reading, one for distance, your brain adjusts & balances. Can our ears do the same?
Resulting in a bit more bass without compromising mids & treble.

Imbalance would be huge. Not any good experience.

Don’t do that…

MQAs behaviour and functionality seems truly awful, thank you for that clip. I´m staying away from Tidal. If I find the Takstar Pro 82 not to be too harsh or some dealbreaker like that I´ll probably buy the FiiO, it seems great for a number of reasons which you stated in your review. Thank you for all the great info. :)

I´ve tried out my Takstar Pro 82 a bit now. I´ll probably post a longer amateurish review later, but my initial impressions are that they are very comfortable. The isolation is decent, I like the tonality. The bass is pretty good, not for bassheads or EDM-lovers but I like it and find it quite detailed and fast. Very clear, detailed sound, the strength of this headphone, outside how comfortable they are. I think that the treble is a bit too pronounced for me, I´ve played around a little bit with the EQ but didn´t find that I managed to solve it in a good enough way, so far. If I can´t tame the treble a bit more I´ll probably sell them and buy something a bit more balanced and a bit warmer and less analytical. I do get why lots of people love them though, the comfort, detail and clarity is truly great. I also like the tonality.

Early conclusion: Right now I can´t stand the treble so I either manage to tame it or I will sell them fast.
