Symphonium Titan - Impressions and reviews

Actually... you are not alone. I got mine today as well. They sound good with my N7... no issues.. DX260 sounds good but high gain is needed... sounds good with the N7-C9 combo but I get distortion from the DC-Elite and N3U
It only sounds ok when I pair it with my thx 887 desktop amp. Is it really that hard to drive or just a bad QC? My questyle m15i is able to drive a lot of full size headphones even planars easily, but not this tiny iem

I got mine today as well and unfortunately there's quite a bit of imbalance between the channels. Bass and vocals are elevated in the right channel and throws everything off. I tried different tips, cables, etc. and nothing would fix it. I'll need to reach out to the distributor and see if I can either get a replacement or a refund.

What I did hear though was fairly nice. Definitely a fair amount of thumpy bass with fair treble. It's pretty laid-back so it's not fatiguing at all and the fit is pretty comfortable.
Same here when I pair it with my questyle m15i. Left channel has much less bass and there is a lot of distortion, noise, but the right channel seems fine. This iem only sounds ok when I pair it with my thx 887 desktop amp, but it's still not so good, even worse than some of my cheap moondrop iems.

I received my Titan yesterday from Headphones.com (great customer service) and I’m shocked how hard it is to drive. I’m using my Cayin N30LE that I rolled with a variety of cables including Eletech OTL, PWA FTS, and Beat Audio 8W Cyclone. Still I have my N30LE on Hyper Mode with the volume at 75 and it’s still missing something. The bass is okay but no better than my Elysian Annihilator and that doesn’t seem right. I can’t figure out if this is how it’s suppose to sound or if there’s a QC issue on the first production run.

Oh, man, too bad about those of you guys having problems with your units! I have to say I got the one with the acoustune as2002 bundle and it sounds great but I did try it with the ifi hip dac and thought it it became a bit muddy. I'm not saying your problem is with the source, just sharing my experience.

For everyone else, what eartips are you guys using with your Titan? I am using the stock tips (the ones with the blue stem), I tried the velvet divinus but thought it became somewhat muddy (again) so I went back to the stock tips and I'm loving every moment with them.

This is probably an unnecessary post. For those having trouble with the Titan. Did you check that the pins polarity are correct? It's very easy to fit one side wrongly since Symphonium doesn't use ear guides.

I did end up checking that and unfortunately the channel imbalance still persisted :triportsad:

Sounds like a batch issue (unless someone also got unlucky with the initial production run)? My unit's from the first run, have no issues with it. (I also don't find it dark, just a bit relaxed in the treble, but the details are there.)

(I trust Symphonium and Headphones.com can help resolve this.)

Same here. It's not about the treble, but there is enough to make it balanced.

Sorry to hear about the problems. I can feel your frustration.

These are truly special to me - I'll get into more detail as I have more time with them.
Arrived 2 days ago and I spent all day listening, trying tracks from different genres. It took me a while to dial in my qudelix (using balanced out 4.4 to cable adapter). And once I got the settings right it was blissful. Tips do make a difference - i'm using the yellow stock tips now, my dekoni bullets had less bass by comparison. They give me a new appreciation for a big part of my library, to me they work incredibly well with well mastered, atmospheric bassy tracks. A hifi version of being in at a arena-show with hundreds of lasers, with a modern PA, set up perfectly for the space. But - dialing them in took me a while, and I want to test them on amps with more power.

Questyle M15i is limited by power in order to meet MFI spec requirements for power consumption.
The Titan is low impedance hence the M15i is likely not driving it properly. This sounds like the case if the distortion disappears on your THX887.
We tested Titan with the M15 (Non-I version) with no issues during R&D.

Yeah.. upon comparison with my other iems... I'm not that impressed.. hoping this is just a bad batch from the distributor..

If distortion happens only on certain sources it's likely the source isn't driving it properly.

Hey guys, If you have Tidal and the time, can you try out this track. Pink Panther Theme (Revenge of the Pink Boom) by Boom Tube. There is a tick tick sound. around the 0:57, 2:08, 2:45 mark. It sounds physical. I can't find this anywhere else.

@ZeroChad Hey... not a big deal as I hope to never have to use it but you guys need to add the Titan to the warranty list.. the link on the card takes you there but there's no option for that model

Fixed.

Thanks for letting me know. Must have overlooked this.

I tend to be a non-believer in sources and power, but Symphonium (and Nightjar) IEMs have really challenged my beliefs on these. (I feed the Titan more power off my Kann Alpha [80-90/150 in midgain] than some of my overears [Arya Organic is usually at 70-80, for one] to get to a satisfactory listening experience, not necc. volume. Never mind the Duality with the impedance adapter which pushed it to 120-130/150, a bit more than the Susvara!)
