My setup nowadays is more about comfort and feeling good. I don't chase after imaginary "musicality" and other flowery language, placebo-laden nonsense.

I just ordered a Schiit Loki tone control box that I expect will bring me great pleasure.

I've had some experience with these being noisy, scratchy things when you turned the dials...maybe they just couldn't create a nice quiet design for cheap so they just nixed them outright?

On another note, I always found it funny that tone controls are heresy, but attempting to modify the sound via physical changes to the earpads, porting on earphones, or adding distortion with tube amplification or whatnot is totally acceptable.

Well there are several ways to trim the eq bush.

Cool! You would feel immediately that you are not actually steering yourself. Whereas if they did this in audio equipment I bet there would be tons of people hearing day and night differences..turning their placebo knobs

Pinks is awful! If you need a late night bulk dog in Hollywood, Oki Dog is better. But the atmosphere is decidedly more punk than pinks.
