Sony's new flagship 2014 - MDR-Z7

Is the Z7 suppose to compete with HD800? What's the price?

I read $900 USD
I don't think they're aiming to beat out Sennheiser but I haven't heard these yet.
Besides pricing the video pretty much covers what we know

I also love the frequency response graph in the second video.
"Our 40mm driver starts seriously rolling off at the 80khz mark while our new 70mm driver starts seriously rolling off at the 100khz mark" unless I didn't see that properly xD

Sony did quote SA5000 going up to 110kHz after all...

Just found the link on google...

The rumored prices for Z7 and Z5 are 1.1K+ and 750+ SGD respectively.

1100 SGD ~ 879.79 USD

Everything went right as what i expected.....liquid diagraphm again...housing plastic likes 1r...and street price will be 600-800 as it is Sony, not Sennheiser...

I remember reading that as well
Thought it was interesting. If I had to guess to guess I would imagine they feel that high frequency extension would result little to no roll off in our perceivable treble. I'm no engineer and this is just a guess. Though i f someone could fill me in on the actual reason.

It's more about marketing, SA5000 was designed with SACD in mind. 110kHz treble helps with the brochures, even then I love my SA5000 to bit. Certainly not 110kHz monster that it claimed to be.

I want a R10 or SA5000 again, not a new Z1000. =/
