oh?

Yes......just found that out.

##################################################################
#
# [SOUND SIGNATURE]
#
# Choose between 4 sound signatures.
#
# After changing the sound signature here you need to reboot the
# player first, and then to apply the corresponding external tuning.
#
# Available options are:
# 0 for Neutral - between Warm (Midnight) and Bright (Dawn)
# 1 for Warm - Midnight v2
# 2 for Bright - Dawn v2.1
# 3 for WM1Z - the WM1Z stock sound signature
#
# For example: SIG=1
# Default is [3].

SIG=0

Still I really like SIG=0

Yeah, though without applying the corresponding external tuning it won't sound the same, and settings (except the region) won't be loaded.

I get to the external tunes. But just the way I have it is way, way better than stock? I mean the WM1Z has not sounded like this?

You mean this is stock with MX3 only?

If you changed the signature in the settings file and you restarted, it's already something else, but it needs the tuning to ensure it's "complete".

But if you say it sounds nice like this, I'll look into it for a future update.

Thank-you.

So I need to start from scratch and revert back to stock 3.02? And start over to get it reset?

No, every time you want to switch sound signatures, you just change its value in the settings file, then you restart the player, and then you apply the corresponding tuning, according to the new in-use sound signature.

Yes, it’s great actually....nothing funky at all, totally perfect?

I have been using MrWalkman's firmware for quite a while, but there is a question i was never able to figure out the answer, not written in the FAQ either,

If i want to switch to a different tuning within the same firmware build (say, between WM1Z and Neutral tuning of Walkman One), do i need to do the complete stock revert process and reinstall Walkman One, or can i just change the setting file in the player, restart and apply the tuning i want? Thanks for the clarification.

This is actually mentioned in the FAQ, and also in the "Tunings_Info.txt" file that can be found in the External_Tunings folder :)

Well, I tried warm with out the external tuning, bright, but found home with the same firmware as the WM1A.

The (normal) Warm, with the external tuning is best!

The Plus v2 is too much in way to me. Funny to that the slider mechanism is reversed in that on the original Midnight the slider up was (normal).

Also strangely I like the exact same firmware the best on both players?

This depends on the PMD (Plus mode by default) setting. If you set that to 1 (On), you don't have to set the slider up to use the Plus mode.

In Midnight v2, PMD was by default set to On, but in this firmware I decided to leave these settings disabled by default.

I got it, you can actually switch the default mode. Then the slider switches it to the opposite. Cool.
