MrWalkman: a Q from our colleague - in the folder menu folder names if being too long don't fit
the screen and get cut - is there a way around it, like make fonts smaller or split the lines in the name?

As mentioned before, we can't modify the player app without access to its source code. :)

I personally just tap the three dots on that folder/song, and then I can see the full name.

I was attempting to install the new version for ZX300 and for both tuning exe's my PC is throwing the critical Trojan threat and deleting files.

These are false positives. Disable Windows Defender and try again.

Interesting problem - I finally installed Windows XP on a virtual machine to try the "windows way" of the FW, but when I try to run the A50 related executables, I get a "not a win32 application" error message. Anyone else getting this trouble?

The original firmware updater for the A50 Walkman is not compatible with WinXP, so I wouldn't expect the mods to be installable on ye olde 2 decade operating system either

Is it also possible to install using a Mac? Might be a silly question, but is there also a danger of bricking the device if the install fails?

Edit: just noticed it’s windows only

The install won't fail, unless you forcefully restart the player while it's updating itself.

The whole update process happens on the player only, so once it's started, you could even disconnect the USB cable.
