I haven't had the 1A for long time, but it was my almost ideal sound, should have kept it.
The 507 can't be as good, it's tiny in comparison, but it is probably very close with other convenience factors, usb c, light.
Honestly, no questions needed, it's gorgeous, buy it, the only question is how to get it for £500 max

Thanks. The 1A is indeed very impressive. I thought the ZX300 was nearly as good when I compared them at a store only to find out that the 1A is noticeable better when I tried both players at home. I love the size of the ZX300 but need 1A type of sound quality.

You'd definitely love the 507 if you thought 300 was not bad

The ZX507 has a balanced output so it should sound considerably better. It should be able to drive harder to drive headphones thanks to its 200 mW per channel at 16 ohms.

Speaking of the FiiO DAPs, M15 will be released in December. It looks very promising, it will have AK4999EQ (same DAC with Astell Kernn SP2000 !)

I want to buy a DAP for my Focal Elegia but none of the current generation DAPs are good enough for me. I will wait for the next generation products and will choose the best one. Candidates: Fiio M15 , M15 Pro, Sony ZX500, Hiby R8

Thanks, but if you plan on using the digital output only, will there be a significant or any difference between these two? I am planning to use the walkman with the PHA-2A to get the balanced output.

Probably yes, but we have no idea if the newer Walkman can digital out to a DAC or not. Plus digital out may not be available during streaming.
