The unit is Japan import, I think it is better to wait for the offical US release

But why did Sony still didn't release ZX500 in the US ? Isn't US the biggest and the most important market...

Dont see whats the difference.
It is just an international version thats all.
And youl all the updates and support aswell

No, not for portable head-fi audio. In terms of importance the US market for hi-end portable audio is pretty low on the list.

Biggest market for portable head-fi audio is Asia - particularly places like Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea and China. The US market is bigger for home audio stuff like home theatre systems, component systems and speakers.

Hong Kong has one of the biggest market, and it's not released yet, HK sites it, so it will come soon.

They just started selling retail at E-earphone, Japan, if I'm not mistaken Nov 2.

Btw, now that I have it listening in my quiet room, the more impressed I am at how clean, and resolving the ZX507 sounds. It's tonality is balanced, not too warm, nor becoming overly analytical. The treble is well rendered, and midrange instrument notes articulated. Vocals sound natural to my ears, and it's centered (not too forward/recessed).

I'm using the MDR-Z7M2 with the ZX507 at the moment. It sounds amazing. Although I wish I have something that's smaller so it won't such a hassle when I'm on the go.
IER-M7 or M9 if you want to spend the money. Get the MDR-1AM2 if not.

The 1AM2 is the perfect compliment to the Z7M2 IMO. The 1AM2 is Sony’s answer to Beats and other popular consumer oriented headphones. It’s a very similar signature to the Z7M2, just more a more narrow and intimate presentation. Which would honestly sound better to most consumers who don’t really appreciate space in the presentation. It even took me a while to appreciate the spacious presentation of the Z7M2.

I bought a Z7M2 a year ago at full Amazon retail ($900) and ended up sending it back as I preferred the more intimate 1AM2. Well I had a chance to score another Z7M2 used at a heavy discount and now like it much more. Especially at the price I got it at.

I’d also procured many more Sony headphones in the meantime (Z7, IER-M9) and have a better appreciation of the Sony house sound and where the Z7M2 fits into their lineup.

But yeah, check out the 1AM2 for a more portable, much easier to drive option. It sounds good literally out of anything.

Well Hong Kong is going through more important stuff right now which affects how business operates as well as their sales projections and marketing tactics.

Still thinking about getting either IER-M9 or M7 every now and then. Will have to wait for a while but I can feel it's won't be too far in the future.

The Z7M2 works great. I just have to deal with the size when I'm outside.

The ZX500's spesification sheet claims " 200mW + 200mW " balanced output power. Other devices' data claim just a single number. For comparisions, the ZX500's power is 200 mW or 400mW ?

Hi guys. I am deciding between Sony A105 and ZX500. My use case is to listen to sensitive IEMs on the go. I am trying hard to justify extra 500eur for the more expensive model. I hope to have a chance to listen to both of them in near future. So my simple question: is the extra 500eur worth it?

It's 200mW per channel, they don't combine. ie 200mW output for left channel and 200mW for right channel.
