In case anyone needs to do that in the future.

  • Power off the device
  • Press and hold Power and Vol- until the sony logo comes up
  • Release buttons. After a while an open Android and "No Command" should appear
  • Press and hold Power, press Vol+, Release Vol+, Release power
You now have the recovery menu where you can select items with vol+/- and enter with Power button

cool info thanks. While in that menu / setting there’s no way to disable volume cap or enable high gain?

What size and make of card are you using? I have no trouble with a 1Tb SanDisk Extreme, even though I was warned that it was not supported. The only problem is having a card that size it does slow things down.

Did you format the card in the Walkman first?
I use 512. formatted it in zx507, so that walkman app can read it.
Sony states it supports microSD cards up to 2 TB. it's reported that device works ok with 20 000 songs.
A few days ago I had exactly 1 500 in total. bow over 1700. and I am going to put more albums from RS top 500 albums.

The synergy between the ZX507 and the iFi Hip DAC is seriously great. Listening w the HD6XX now and oh man is it amazin. I can hardly believe how well the iFi drives the 6XX. It’s a revelation! Highly rec this rig!

Nice! So the ZX507 can be used as a digital transport via usb c into another DAC?

I honestly have never heard the 6xx sound this great, and I've had a few much larger amps over the years, including the jotunheim, asgard etc. This little monster known as the iFi Hip DAC is soo gd!

The ZX507 is a really good digital transport source. I believe that’s because the jitter on the ZX507 is really very low.

In my experience, jitter has a big effect on the focus and imaging of the sound, if you find vocals to be smeared/blurry that means that your device chain has high jitter. If you are able for example to improve your digital transport but keeping the same dac/amp, you will find the vocals and imaging to be more focused.

On very low jitter systems with good recording and resolving iems/headphones, you will hear more of the micro variations/vibrations of the singer’s larynx.

Thanks a lot and yes, hip-dac is enough for Senns HD 6XX. But if you'd like to have something really special for these cans, just now we launched an amp tailored for them on Drop.
