Apologies if this has already been covered but has anyone used the dac function with an iPhone via cck adapter? I am seriously considering the ZX300 but want to use it with Tidal from my iPhone. Also, am I correct that it can decode MQA?Will be using it with Andromeda’s single ended for now. I’ve read they are a good match with the ZX300.

Any thoughts welcome.

I finally got my magic cable! Took 34 days from order.

Sony Canada told me there was no such cable. If you zoom in you can see it is to be used with a DAC, via USB.

It is not sold by Sony Canada. Not sure If Sony USA sells it.

I've had this cable over 2 years ago, never even used it. Just bought it in case I ever get to use it.

You never bothered plugging it into a DAC? Not even out of curiosity?

I wasn't sure if I was going to buy the DAC, I was in Japan when I purchased the cable with my ZX2.

I've been in the same boat for a couple of years. I bought the cable so now I have to buy the DAC.
Also, I bought an EQ that is supposed to be placed between a DAC and an amp. So, now I am really committed.

Drag the album to Tagscanner, then click on the 'Edit' tab along the top tabs, then look for the long rectangle box in the options bar under the tabs that may say 'keep' or '600x600' or 'recompress'
Make sure all the tracks in the album are highlighted then click on 'recompress' and that has worked 99.9% of the time for me - let me know how it goes.
Works!! Thanks so much!

You're welcome.
It's frustrating when the album art won't show, there are other methods but for me this was as easy as clicking a button (or 2)

still waiting for them to fix the delay on dac. its been forever
Well not sure if you just didn't read the thread after the release. The delay is caused by one controller which handles the DAC Mode when used with a computer. It is not a software problem and cannot be fixed by updates or something.
The reason why this delay is not happening when Bluetooth is used is because this controller is not used when using it.

Who knows if the ZX300 successor will have this fixed or changed.

I personally do not need the delay to be fixed, I use the ZX300 only for pure music playback so It doesn't really matter to me. Also if you Stream a movie or watch a online video the audio is very likely heavily compressed and you will not really benefit from the ZX300 pure specifications.

Anyone have predictions for a successor to the zx300? I was so confident Sony would announce something cool for their Anniversay but nothing so far.
AFAIK Sony usually waits till August-September to announce new things so if we get something this year it'll be probably then that we'll know about it

The very first Walkman was released on 1 July 1979, so I kinda hope we get some news in two weeks.

I agree that Sony tends to go for announcements later in the year, but for anniversaries they have done so well in advance: The NW-ZX1 for the 35th anniversary was announced in September 2013, i.e. the year before the actual anniversary. The NWZ-X1000 for the 30th anniversary was announced in January 2009, with some relatively solid rumors leading up to that. Sony letting half of the 40th anniversary year pass without any hint so far seems rather unusual, though of course there are not many data points to clearly establish a trend.
