Li-Ion batteries can degrade quickly, probably when there is something wrong with them. Last week I had an iPhone-battery replaced, a bit more than a year old and allegedly still at 96% capacity. The new one lasts at least twice as long (like the old one did when it was brand new).

There is 3 types of jack:
- 2.5 trrs also known as Ak balanced 2.5 jack
- 3.5 trrs hifiman
-4.4 trrrs also known as Sony standard one.

You need to use the last one.
The zx300 also supports 3.5trrs.

The zx300 also supports 3.5trrs.
3.5 is trs.
You can connect a 3.5 trrs if it is L+R+L-R- but it will not be balanced.

The NW-ZX300 Walkman® features a balanced standard plug, designed for the new Φ0.17" balanced connection cable. This supplies compatible headphones with fully discrete left and right channels, unlike conventional headphones that share a ground wire. The result is far better external noise suppression and improved stereo imaging, as well as more headroom for powerful sound delivery.

It supports trrs, not all trrs is balanced, just separate grounding.
the guy ask for Balanced, not separate grounding, i think he need the full power that can give the ZX300 for a pair of headphones :L3000:

In this specific case , i would personnally go for a 2.5 female to 4.4 male adapter if his headphone as 2.5 jack as i suspect.

I do, how much? Got about 40 hrs on it. I can't stand it. I mean the 1a is 5x better and you can get a used on for 750, I don't see why anyone would want this zx300 trash
This is an absolute crock. The power of confirmation bias at work folks. I’d bet every last penny I have you wouldn’t be able to tell the difference in a blind test with matched volumes.

When connecting Android phones over BT to the NW-ZX300 in BT receiver mode, it always connects in AAC even though I have LDAC set in developer options. Any ideas on how to force LDAC?
go into the bluetooth setting on your phone there should be a setting menu next to the zx300 showing on the phone you should see the LDAC on and off switch in there turn it on .
