Ordered the case and the screen protector 2days ago and now they are sent off, tho it might take 2 weeks. I am very hyped again, after those delays and stuff it's nice to see that finally something Is happening. If accessoryjack is right and they get the player next Friday it won't take to long till I can finally use it

looks similar/closer design to official leather case for nw-x1000 (CLK-NWX1000) rather than case for nw-zx100

Sorry, I forgot to update. The 300A from Sony China arrived with 3 language selections. 2 Chinese and English. High gain option is present. Remote control option is present and works perfectly. Here's a pic of the conformity badge on the back. It is just a vinyl sticker.

Dignis should have something out soon as well. It's a bit off putting to spend 20% of the DAP's value on a case though!

@superuser1 I've got the 3.5mm VE cable. Don't see a 4.4mm option though.

My cost so far:

• ZX300 from Amazon UK £473 (maybe a 6 week wait to get)
• Genuine Sony Leather case from Amazon Japan £59 (maybe a 5 week wait to get) (or just 10% of normal ZX300 UK Amazon price which I think is OK)
• 2nd hand Sony MUC-A12SB1 XBA 4.4mm balanced Sony Kimber cable with mmcx off the forums £118 (likely arrive within 1 week). For use with my SE846's
• 4.4mm to 2.5mm adapter to try my existing Fiio balanced cable £6 (likely arrive within two week)
• Sony-WM-PORT-To-Micro-USB-Adapter-WMP-NWM10 £10 (first bit to arrive, today). Hopefully can use this to connect ZX300 to my old Sony Z5 compact for Tidal streaming via UAPP

So £666 (number of the beast!!) which I'm well pleased with seeing as ZX300 alone now back at £600 on Amazon UK. I'm not bothering with a screen protector seeing as I'm having the flip case plus I already have a 128GB microSD I will be using initially.

My only questions now are:

• Has anyone seen confirmation that ZX300 works OK as external DAC to Android & iPhone with correct cables (I could use either to stream Tidal from). Assume no issue direct to a PC but surely must have a software driver to support high bitrate & DSD
• Would like to try some Wireless headphones via LDAC or AptxHD. The ones I'm seeing as recommendations are Sony X1000M2 or B&W PX and from a sound quality perspective most seem to suggest the B&W PX is better. I don't really need ANC so any better recommendation without ANC to use LDAC or AptxHD and sound nearly as good or better than my Shure SE846's.
• What remote to use for the ZX300.

I'd assume if ZX300 does work linked to a smartphone then for Tidal streaming I'd need to change track on the phone but volume on the ZX300

It's rubber and has been on Sony Hi res daps since ZX1. The texture seems smoother on the ZX300 though.

My unit is under customs investigation, som I am pretty closed to it to give you an answer soon on LDAC or AptxHD (but afaik, AptxHD support will be added at later stage through fw update of the WM.)
Anyway, I have WI1000X waiting to test with the unit, so I will then let you know. Btw sound quality of IEM's WI1000X connected through AAC codec with iPhone7 is great anyway (streaming through Spotify), so I cant wait to compare it with NWZX300.

If I recall correctly, the textured back on highest-end Sony players (WM, ZX2) is leather, and for the ZX100-300 it is rubber. Although that's just from hearsay and many people can't point out real leather anyway.

It's leather, the Sony side says so and people already confirmed

I have the ZX2, it looks and feel like leather, but I can't confirm if it's real leather. On the other hand, the ZX300 is like the ZX100 I think, it's a soft rubber texture, not hard.

Should i consider buying this, or should i just buy a TRRS cable for my Oppo PM3 / ZX2 combo. ( Something i've been considering doing for a long time....i'd still have to buy a cable for the ZX300, so it's a bit pointless really, buying it ? )

the more i look at the silver and black, the more I love the silver colourway, always had black everything so makes a change. Also looking to pick up the silver iPhone x, so will go nicely together.
