New firmware released, only fixes a playback transition issue when listening thru BT.

Sadly that is the only remote option otherwise I'd have acquired an AliExpress cheapo.
Life is busy and my listening time is often times when I'm doing housework, dishes etc where my hands are wet so trying to push the buttons through pocket material or having to dry my hands to take the player out is a pain in the neck, that's where I get value from the remote. (I am frequently skipping/repeating/volume adjusting - I rarely play an album or playlist in full). Also, I had the accessory grabbing pleasure of being in Japan and not having to pay inflated prices + shipping which made it almost enjoyable to hand over the ¥ for it.

Is there any way I can stream Tidal from my Samsung phone to the ZX300..?
Not sure why nobody answered it but yes. You need to have the updated 2.0+ (IIRC) FW then you will have the BT receiver option, then simply connect your phone to the ZX300 and stream. I use my Note 9 streaming LDAC to the ZX300

how does that work? samsung note only uses bluetooth 5.0, not compatible with ldac or aptx hd, are you sure your note 9 is using regular bluetooth 4.2 at 320kbps to your nw-zx300?

To anyone who has updated, has the sou d changed at all? I know a few from the 1A/1Z thread had mentioned a change in sound so I was wondering if it would be the same story with the ZX300

Mmm... not to sure about that, but i did notice that some songs that i listen daily sounded kinda different compared to what i remembered from yesterday (can't quite pinpoint what's the difference tho, a bit more congested i think? not to sure). I did recently went from headphones to iems less than a week ago tho (ath es700 balanced to xba-n3 unbalanced) so i'm kinda sure that's the culprit and not the fw. Gotta grab a balanced cable soon.

Out of curiosity, just grabbed my es700's to check... yup, kinda brighter IMHO. I often went with +2 treble eq, now i'm kinda fine using direct. I still think 99% of it is my mind playing tricks on me tho (getting used to the n3's), either that or the change is REALLY subtle.

Lmao yeah it uses BT 5.0 and it does have LDAC support but not AptX HD as Samsung stupidly wanted to use Samsung HD which they now removed as a codec option lol.

I use LDAC with my 300 and my ES100. You don't have the BT receiver option on the 300 unless you update the firmware

I feel this update make the ZX300 sound a bit, just a bit brighter & more detail than 2.01, or I just listening in a quiet room :ksc75smile:
I just upgraded to 2.02.. Yeap, it does sound bit brighter & more detailed than 2.01.. Like Astell&Kern SR15 or am I just imagining things? But anyway, no regrets - SQ now is at least the same or a tad better than 2.01..

Are the perceived changes in sound referring to the Bluetooth output only?

My impressions are based on direct playback from microSD source, not Bluetooth..

I was meaning if playing from SD card through (balanced) wired output.
I forgot to update last night, I'll do it today, but I haven't been listening enough lately to maybe notice any subtle changes.
I wonder if anyone with bright treble focused earphones may notice any changes in treble.
