I don't know why this is an issue with Sony players. Other vendors (like FiiO, OPUS) support playlists with songs that span multiple volumes. On the FiiO you have to include the volume name in the path. The OPUS players automatically determine the volume as long as the path root is unique between the volumes.

Probably because of Android. Actually because of Android other vendors didn't specifically have to code that part as Android already has robust removable storage handling. Sony coding from the ground up opened themselves up to bugs they may not be aware of.

Looks good. I know the preference here leans to the leather cases but I'm giving some serious thought to the musashino armor case and it comes with an antiglare glass screen protector. Don't have to use it, but it's there. I put hard rubber armor cases like this on our phones, so why not this device? Found this pretty good write-up about it - it's japanese so use google translate. End result is considerably less bulky than the OEM case.

Do note for cases where they use raised button sections, especially for the on/off wake button. Very likely to get accidentally pressed when in pocket or pouch.

I use the black (back) Musashino case with the screen protector.
I chose it over the Sony flip case because I have am mostly left handed and thought it would become annoying trying to flip it open and operate it with my left hand. Also there was talk of issues with the magnet and the screen, and the Musashino adds the least bulk but with a fairly decent amount of protection on the sides and top and bottom. I find the colour options unattractive and almost didn't buy until I realized I could get black. It does seem a shame to not match the beauty of the device with a nicer quality material, but I figure my main purpose is for protection, and because it's black if I squint in low light conditions I can't tell the difference.

I'm sure he meant the armor case, based on what he said about the colored backs. And he's right, they're not very attractive and black's probably the best choice. But as far as function, durability, and not being a flip-lid type, it looks good.
