I am curious as to whether it would affect battery life or adversely effect the DAP in any way, if the earphones are constantly plugged into the balanced out?

I always leave my iems plugged into the Jack, and don't notice any battery drain. I mean the amp is off in standby.

Just got my first taste of balanced out on this player. The balanced is almost like a different dap when it comes to soundstage and spacing. I never really noticed any difference with the ak70 in balanced, but with this baby I sure do.

As excellent as the SE is, the balanced is pretty amazing. Wider soundstage with even more space between instruments and vocals, but still musical and coherent. And super detailed. Listening to a vinyl rip of Pink Floyd's 'Echoes' and DSOTM dsd and it's really amazing the width, and panning of channels. The beginning of 'Time' gave me a start because it was so far 'out of my head' :) Good stuff!

First off mojo is not the pinacle of adio gear in that price range. It is good but i don't see it beating the iDSD BL in my book. the zx300 is a pleasure to listen to from balanced out. I really got this only to use it balanced.

Wow. Not even sure what prompted that post. .......... I disagree with you about the Mojo. Mojo is widely regarded as best DAC up to £1000, or rather, up to the 2Qute. I will ignore your .. book.

I didnt like the idea of opening and closing the flap. Just not my thing. and Nubuck feels really good in the hand
I can imagine it feels soft :), but just be careful with sweaty hands: nubuck is prone to abrasion.
I used to dislike flaps, like you. But it just takes some getting used to, after a while it becomes second nature.

are you that sensitive towards criticism for the mojo? I just didn't like its sound signature. I was talking about my specific preference. I am sure mojo is regarded as a very technically capable DAC under $1000 however, i wont call it as the best DAP for the price. What prompted that post is that very statement. Btw its all in good spirit and for all you know one day ill sell everything and land up with the mojo. but till then ... :)

@abitdeef So what headphones do you use on the balanced? I still can't find any to suit my tastes :triportsad:

Well I'm using the Sony XBA N3BP, It hurts my ears a bit, ( even though they are small ) but I love the sound.I can't wear over the ear cans ATM and I'm used to very small iems, like UE 700, sound magic ie 80, etc, I don't know of a tiny good sounding iem that sound great and has the right mmc? Cable connectors.

I've tried lots of iems shures, westone, sennhieser, and they all hurt my ears. I hope more 4.4 gear comes out. I'm thinking about the sennheiser ie80 or ie80s as the older senn iems I had were pretty comfy, but bass heavy can't remember the model #.

If I can't get used to the fit on these I will have to sell them, and stick to SE, which still sounds amazing. My perfect iem would be the profile of UE 700, or even sound magic ie 80 with hybrid tech, and mmc connection so I could use balanced in comfort.

Maybe my left ear will stop hurting and I could try some over the ear cans in bakanced. The XBA N3 are really nice and sound wonderful for the $$$ I hope I can get used to them, trying different tips, they are really tiny for a hybrid but not ie 80 small. :)

I mean look how tiny they are, if they could just be balanced, they actually sound amazing for a single dynamic driver.

Sorry didn't mean to write a novel.

So is there a way of detecting this? If not please don't fook with my head with phased out adapters which i have no way of confirming are phased out. :D

If you have a MMCX connector cable, disconnect them from the IEM. Change the multi meter to the lowest resistance range (ohms), Place one probe onto the L+ on the MMCX connector(the middle pin is +), place the other probe onto what should be L+ on the adapter. Do the same for the R side. I don't know how to explain this any simpler. You're checking for continuity, and you can get a cheap DMM for $10 to do this. Other than that you will always be wondering if you got burned and bought a crap adapter.
