will trrs to 4.4mm still come out balanced on the ZX2?

ZX2 does not support 4.4 and ZX2 is seperate ground not balanced but you will get seperate ground from ZX2 with a 3.5 trrs male to 4.4 trrrs female if that is what you mean

Could one of you confirm that this is how the TRRS is wired with the ZX2:
Sleeve: R-
Ring 2: L-
Ring 1: R+
Tip:       L+

Many thanks!

And the 4.4

And the 4.4

Hi, thanks for the quick answer, but you lost me.
I know the Sony picture, but this does not say if ring 3 or ring 4 are R- or L-.
And the 4.4 I did not understand at all. Does the ZX2 also accept this? If yes, I must have missed it.
Anyhow, I bought 5 TRRS plugs and asked a friend to change them for me. So I realy need to make sure if this is correct:

Sleeve: R-
Ring 2: L-
Ring 1: R+
Tip: L+

Many thanks!

Where?

Is there not possibly an easy yes or no to my question?

5 posts back. 4.4 is only for the new WM1 players. I can't answer your question about wich ground goes where as I don't know

The ZX2 TRRS is the same as the HifiMan HM-801, and the re-zero Balanced Plug below.

Note: The cable's foil or braided shield must NOT be connected to anything at the TRRS plug end of the cable.

Can you still stream Tidal on the ZX2?  I'm thinking of getting one but I read somewhere that the android version was so old that Tidal wouldn't work anymore.  Is that true?  If it isn't true, does it seem like something that could happen in the next year or so?  I wouldn't want to shell out $1200 only to not be able to download from Tidal in a year.  Thanks!

It works fine now but I think it is a real concern that it might stop working at some point but nobody can tell you for sure

Yes, no problem. Qobuz unfortunately crashes too often.
