HIFIMAN RE-600 IEM with ZX2 in BALANCED MODE.

Hello everyone,

Has any of you tried or have knowledge about Hifiman RE-600 in ear monitors,  Do they work in balanced mode with ZX2.
In other words are Hifiman player's and Sony ZX2's trrs out puts are the same design ?

If re-600 can work with ZX2in balanced mode I am planning to buy.

You're replies will be highly appreciated, best regards.

hifiman daps and zx2 use the same trrs so you shoud be fine

You certainly can get a balanced cable for the A1 but I'm not so sure with the PM3, looks like the balanced cables that Oppo sell are only for PM1 and PM2. For PM3 you might need to open them up and hardwire a new cable directly to the drivers like what I've had done with my Signature Pro

Just FYI...

Does the DSEE-HX feature add better sound to the music files?
I normally leave it off, but when I messed around with the eq and turned it on, the music became louder but I can't tell whether the sound has been altered? It's like jumping from volume 10 to volume 15 but no change in the quality.

Interesting. From the Oppo promo photoes it looks like the PM3 is single sided entry with a male trs plug wich only gives 3 wires, but I suppose that internally in the cup it might actually be a female trrs with 4 wires.

The PM-3 comes with two cables as accessories. One contains a mic, and the other contains an in-line remote (or maybe it's two-in-one?). Anyway, it has to have four connectors in order for those to work. Thankfully, they can be re-purposed for a TRRS connection.

Yes but that does not mean that there are 4 wires up to the cup and drivers, only from the mic and/or remote. But this is all guess work as I don't know

HI,

I have just received my Sony WMC-NWH10 cable, but have some problems and need advice.

I tested it with my ZX2 to Oppo HA-2 with no problems at all, the music just start and is very enjoyable. As the Oppo is not mine, take it just to check it, i switch to my Pioneer XPA-700 and surprise, no sound at all...?
Then connect the ZX2 to my desktop dac, Cambridge Audio Dac Magic 100 and again no sound. Switch back to Oppo, music appears with no problems.
The I connect my LG V100 to the Pioneer, just to check it, with one USB OTG cable form the Oppo and there is no problem at all, the Pioneer works flawlessly.

Am I missing something in the settings on ZX2? Did someone encounter same problems? I change several USB cables with no effect.

BTW I tested and LG V10 as a transport with the Oppo HA-2 but combination with ZX2 was better. I cannot explain it in details, but overall impression was better for the short A-B testing which I performed. I do not know what is inside this cable but it works very well /I red that it is basically USB Hub/.

Thanks.

Probably something to do with compatibility from your Cambridge. My Zx2 would not connect to my Pha-3 via USB A in the back, because it was reserved for Apple IOS, zx2 is android, and even android phones have to be with the micro USB port in the back. Yes, they are coded and read differently on the imbedded chip

I love the linear memory/price scaling until you get to the big one.Any brave soul wants to buy one and test with ZX2 for science?

Usually ships within 1 to 2 months, so it's not available yet. Sandisk just announced theirs, the slower of their 2 to go on sale next month, and the faster Q4.

Doing a quick check, I found these:

The PM-3 is OPPO Digtial’s most affordable planar magnetic to date – reviewed here – but perhaps not every owner is aware that their headphone is internally wired for balanced connectivity and therefore has more performance still to give. You just need the right cable.

Yes, I had PETEREK make me a balanced cable for my PM3 which I used with the DP-X1.
