It matches my desk. Does the DAP fit with the case on? Or does it just sit on top of the lip?
Tray part can be flipped either way - using the lip or flat. Honestly such a simple design but works flawless. Mostly use it sideways for iPhone charging clock saver.

FWIW today I found disabling USB debugging significantly reduces latency in usb dac mode. It's low enough for video watching but still not good enough for gaming unfortunately.

Seems like software overheads like these can be a cause of increased latency?

Have you try applying the optimisation guide to see if this would help to reduce the latency even further down?
https://www.head-fi.org/threads/sony-wm1am2-and-wm1zm2-android-walkman-optimization-guide.962975/

I would estimate that the audio latency of my iPad Air + optimized WM1AM2(direct source mode) with balanced mdr-1am2 is somewhere between 50ms to 100ms. This is done by pausing and unpausing during video playback to experience how fast the audio starts and stops. I don’t think this kind of latency is good enough for professional gaming but I would think this latency is very good enough for movie dialog to look synchronised enough and should be fine for causal gaming audio output purposes(candy crush or something like that). I would think it’s is almost on par with typical Bluetooth audio latency but I think the Walkman latency is just slightly on the higher side.

This latency is not always 100% reliable with the Walkman in usb dac mode, sometimes you might have to restart video playback to get the movie to sync properly.

After disabling usb debugging mode, I think my iPad Air 5 + optimised wm1am2 seems to have even lower latency. I estimate it is just like typical Bluetooth audio latencies, maybe around 50ms or under.

Now I want one of those Sony remotes. Not paying $150 used without the clips though. The FiiO would work better with my desk setup since it has a wake function though. Thanks for the recommendation.

Does anyone have a DAP stand they can recommend? I guess a phone one would work too.
This stand works well. Adjustable height, so no problem charging the DAP on the stand. Note that the WM1A/Zm2, with the USB C port on the far left, is shifted off center when the charge cable is plugged in. Still very stable, though.

The Sony remote I only use with a lanyard, after losing one using the clip. Reached for it (where I had clipped it last), and it was missing. Got knocked off/dropped on the street somewhere.

Hey, quick question – does anyone know if you can change your username on this forum? I've been searching for a while but can't seem to find where to do it...!!

Well, I was going to send back my HE1000 Stealth but I'm having second thoughts. I need a bit more time comparing it with the HD 800 S on the 1ZM2. They both sound super good. Comfort wise I'm going to give it to the 800 and HEKS has much better bass. I'll be able to volume match for a better comparison on my RME ADI-2/4 Pro SE on Monday.
