I had assumed that the wm1zm2 was much bigger than the zx707, it’s interesting to see how close in they are in size to one another.

This is the relative sizes of the WM1Z, 707 and the WM1ZM2 ..
Size diff is one thing the other is their relative weights ..
In terms of SQ, the M2 is clearly the winner, same song/FLAC, the M2 reproduces with excellent realism and transparency (timbre, tonality, dynamics, imaging). The 1Z comes in v close to M2, but still not as good. On the other hand 707 is a truly a all rounder given its smaller size and light weight, and a very natural tonality! The 707 is a finely tuned DAP by Sony! I usually pair IER-M7 with the 707 and uses either the IER-Z1R or the EarSonics SEM9 for the 1Z and 1ZM2. My habit is usually listening on "direct sound" and set to "high gain" but volume is around 27/120 to 35/120, as this range of output gives me the best "equal loudness contour" reproduction of sound across the freq range that masking of details is very minimal to my ears, hence excellent details and nuances reproduction, and the "high gain" provides a denser and more solid sound reproduction to my ears, but then this is me ..

It has nothing to do with what version of Android. Shanling M8 running Android 7 allows gesture control. It was also baked into Android in version 10. Under settings, system, gestures. If it isn't there, then they took it out

I have tempered glass on it too, it fit on Dignis patina and walkman edition cases. Have tried taking the walkman in and out of the case, it fits fine.

Miter Case. Just few links to show, sure could find at other retailers that would ship to India.

My go to storage/ carry/ on the go is Wotancraft CORDURA NYLON CANVAS WAIST PACK / SLING POUCH, own V1 but V2 is similar. Site says 3.5L but believe error as mine is 6.5L and similar looking. I can easily fit 3 CFA IEMs - Walkman with Miter case - cables - extra accessories. Very high quality products - using ‘Avenger’ camera bag for past decade and build/material/zippers hold up very well.

It has nothing to do with what version of Android. Shanling M8 running Android 7 allows gesture control. It was also baked into Android in version 10. Under settings, system, gestures. If it isn't there, then they took it out

Someone could try this:

Enable gestures

adb shell cmd overlay enable com.android.internal.systemui.navbar.gestural

Disable gestures

adb shell cmd overlay disable com.android.internal.systemui.navbar.gestural

Is the artisan patina case still available? Am guessing it fits the new M2 as well? Doesn’t seem to be available anywhere

I always thought the big advantage of the Walkman was, that you could use it while Walking, hence the name^^
