SONY NW-WM1Z M2 / WM1A M2

I dealt with Sony sales reps for 15 years doing retail audio sales. All they usually do is extol the positives and generally deflect any critical questions on their products. Once in awhile if you could get a sales rep alone they might disclose more info but not often. I mostly relied on the product info sheets to get the real story on the Sony products I sold. You will never see any Sony representation on any of these forums for that reason unlike the Chinese manufacturers who are very open about their products warts and all for the most part.
Only down side is that those Chinese daps are refreshed every 18 months; atleast with Sony Daps you get 3-5 Years before a new model is out.

^ this is why I gravitate to companies like Chord or Sony. They release an update when it's worth to, not just for business reasons. Less waste too.

i do absolutely agree with you. and just remember how amazing the wm1z sound is after 5 years. so many other brands with so many new models very 12-18 month... but we all love and remember just the amazing sound of a master piece like the 1z for reason.

Lotoo isn't quite as bad. LPGT has been out for some time. Sony and Lotoo are my two favorite DAP companies.

Sony audio stuffs are manufactured in Malaysia not China, so there shouldn't be any delay except if there are shortage of parts sourced from elsewhere...
This is not true for the WM1ZM2 and WM1AM2. They are made in China. I have confirmed it with my own eyes.

Really? I know they closed their plant in Penang to relocate to KL/Selangor to streamline their production early 2022, but did not read any news of shifting their audio production overseas.

Their Malaysia factory closed as far as I understand

They just shifted their production to a different state. Surprised they divided their production for certain models to a different country. Maybe all the better since the gov in Malaysia is fked up lol

It is worse than CCP. Although I don’t rate the US gov much higher either lol
All the world's governments leave a lot to be desired. Once you get 4 or 5 people together, everything gets screwed up. I spend about 95% of my time alone.

I know Sony closed the factory in Malaysia that manufactured their DAP's. Are you sure they are still being made in Malaysia?
